The Museum Studies Program provides undergraduate and graduate students a broad overview of the history of museums as well as knowledge of museum methodology and practice consistent with contemporary national and international standards. The program gives particular attention to issues of museum history, ethics, the relationships of museums to communities and diverse audiences, educational programs, and an examination of diverse types of collections and interpretations. Museum Studies Certificates: This 16-credit hour program includes traditional coursework, an internship, and field study opportunities. The certificate is available at undergraduate and graduate levels and to non-degree-seeking individuals. For more information. Masters in Museum Studies: This 33-credit hour program offers advanced study in museum methods and practices. This in-person graduate degree program works closely with collections on campus, providing students with opportunities for hands-on experiences. For more information.
